EW Rogers (1864-1913) was initially a stage performer but by the early 1880s was a full-time professional songwriter. His hits include Ask a policeman for James Fawn and Following in father’s footsteps for Vesta Tilley. However, his biggest impact was probably the work he did as accompanist and sketch writer for George Robey.
