From 1917 sheet music <\/strong>\n\nA lady went to the butcher\u2019s shop for half a pound of meat.\nThe butcher carved her off a slice that wasn\u2019t very sweet. \nShe sniffed at it and said, \u201cOh dear, is that the best you\u2019ve got?\nIt smells too high for me to buy\u201d, the butcher shouted, \u201cWhat?\n\nDo you want us to lose the war? Do you want us to lose the war? \nIt\u2019s not very tasty I\u2019ll freely admit, \nBut you\u2019ve got to \u2019ave it and put up with it. \nYou can\u2019t stop that old cow from doing its bit. \nDo you want us to lose the war?\u201d <\/em>\n\nA soldier sat with a lady fair inside the park one night\nHe squeezed and squeezed and squeezed and squeezed and then he squeezed her tight\nShe said \"I'm married, you must know, and so I can't kiss you\"\nThe soldiers said \"I shan't go back to camp until you do.\n\nDo you want us to lose the war? Do you want us to lose the war?\nThen said as he picked up the seven-pound weight, \n\"Get out of it quick or I'll murder you straight!\nFancy asking for chocolates at twenty past eight!\nDo you want us to lose the war?<\/em><\/pre>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
An early 20th century Music Hall song remembered by traditional singers in the 1960s, though various new verses seem to have been added over time. It was popularised in the halls by \u00a0Sam Mayo<\/a><\/a>, and written by the prolific Weston and Lee.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
