George Bass (1888-1928) was a Lancashire comedian, who for many years worked as part of a double act with Stanley Damerell (1879-1951). Sadly Bass died in 1928 at age 40, after collapsing on stage in Burnley. Damerell developed a career as a songwriter, the best known perhaps being Let’s all sing like the birdies sing<\/em> and Hunting tigers out in India.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
