A song that  featured in long-running BBC Radio programme, The Archers<\/em>, sung by Tom Archer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its widely sung by traditional singers all over England, with versions that vary slightly, although all tend to feature audience participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The song was originally written and performed by Archie Naish (1878-23) a comedian who appeared regularly in English music halls between late 1890s and early 1920s. He accompanied himself at the piano and seems to have written many of its own songs. His life ended tragically in 1923.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
