TW Connor (1864-1936, real name: Thomas Widdecombe) was a semi professional songwriter who produced a string of popular songs and monologues from the 1890s until the years following The Great War. His most famous songs include\u00a0She was one of the early birds<\/a><\/em>\u00a0sung by George Beauchamp and Harry Champion’s A little bit of cucumber<\/em><\/a>. He wrote many of the monologues performed by Billy Bennett. According to his\u00a0Wikipedia entry<\/a>, alongside his songwriting \u201che worked most of his life as an administrative officer in the Port of London\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
