CW Murphy (1875-1913) was born in London and seems to have spent most of his working life there, as a composer and songwriter for the Music Halls. He wrote hits for all the major artists of the day and collaborated with innumerable other songwriters. Many of his hits have passed into the repertoire of traditional singers, including:
